The Foundation for Glasshouses and Greenhouses
The foundation fixes the base of the glasshouse or greenhouse to the ground. Typical foundations are constructed from concrete, wood or both.
Concrete Foundations
Option 1: A complete concrete pad
Option 2: In-ground concrete piles, approx. 300x 300x 300 deep,
– One in each corner
– One each side of double doors
– Along sides 3m and longer, have piles every 1.5m
Wooden Foundations
Sink wooden piles into the ground (concreted in or driven in):
– One on each corner
– One each side of double doors
– Along sides 3m and longer, have piles every 1.5m
